Have a guide make your life easier

Michael S, Apr 2025

Our guide’s name was Satoko, she was attentive, kind and an overall great host! The first hour started with her taking us to an Izakaya bar and eating bar food and drinks! An ice cold Sapporo beer in Sapporo - what could be better? Beer is all you can drink for the hour. We ate sashimi, corn tempura, cold tofu, scallops and zangi (Sapporo’s version of fried chicken. We tried to eat as many things that are regional specialties. While eating we had great conversations with Satoko and she adjusted our evening based on our preferences. The second hour of our 3 hour journey ended up eating Genghis Khan bbq and more drinks. It was three types of lamb and it was cooked with mushrooms, onions, bean sprouts and asparagus. There were two sauces that you can dip the food in. Lamb was lean and not gamey at all! The final hour we ended up going to a parfait cafe! We didn’t need anymore drinks as we are light weights but we wanted to end the evening having some dessert! She found this unique place that had a great vibe!!! The entire evening went by so quick when the company is enjoyable! We hesitated initially but we are so happy we decided to do this tour for our first night in Sapporo! It makes it easier to navigate around the area when you have someone who can guide you to places you would never go on your own! Highly recommend Satoko!!!

Enjoyable Evening

Teresa_T, Apr 2025

Enjoyed the tour guide she was great and provided great tips for things to do and places to eat. The food was good and so was the sake. Very enjoyable evening. Would highly recommend.

Great local experience!

Ayumi was an incredible guide! It truly felt like being shown around a cool new city with a local friend who knew all the best spots and completely catered the experience to our interests. Thanks so much for an awesome night!!

Great way to try local izakayas!

Jenny U, Mar 2025

Midori was a great and fun host. It was easy to meet her at the tour starting point, and she asked us for any preferences/hopes for the tour so she could pick great izakayas to visit. The first two were selected by the tour and we got to select from many great options to further customize what foods we wanted to try. The third, Midori selected after being with us and hearing what things we liked best. Note that smoking is still somewhat common in restaurants, so if you are very intolerant of smoke, state that clearly up front (though it still may be inevitable. A highlight was the candid photos Midori took along the way so that we could focus on eating!

Odori Park is actually a road, although it is called a park. 1871 (Meiji 4), a firebreak line dividing the center of Sapporo from north to south was built, which became a road called Goshidori, and the name was changed to Odori. Normally a place of relaxation and recreation, it is also the site of some of Hokkaido's most famous events.

Stretching from east to west, Odori Park is divided into 12 blocks from 1-chome to 12-chome, each block separated by a pedestrian crossing. The distance from one end of Odori Park to the other is about 1.5 km, and it takes about 30 minutes to walk.
