I'm a historic preservationist, my husband is an architect. We had a day in Austin and wanted to learn about Austin's history and see some of its historic architecture. Emily made it happen. She was extremely knowledgeable, answering all our questions, and even took us to some extra places, knowing we would enjoy them. Highly recommend!

Our guide was enthusiastic and interesting. It was easy to imagine the days of brothels, gunslingers and cowboys. Buildings still exist that display the city’s colorful past. I recommend this two hour tour as a worthwhile historical introduction to Austin.

This is the one we go inside! This architectural beauty has a wild history. Learn about what inspired it's architecture through the ages.
At the Bremond block we'll take a stroll around a well-preserved block of Victorian homes and learn about their architectural evolution.
From outside, we'll admire and learn about this monument of predepression Art Deco.
This mansion may seem out of place amongst commercial and government buildings, but 100 years ago those blocks were covered in houses, some even larger than the Governor's Mansion.
There's too much to say about the largest State Capital building in the country. It's architecture tells dozens of wild tales. We'll let you in on a few of them from outside on the south lawn.
From outside, learn about the history of the Cathedral and it's unique construction.
It certainly doesn't fit in with it's neighbors. From outside, discuss the oldest and possibly strangest state building still standing in Austin.
From across the street we'll have a great view of the theatrical ornamentation used in this 1915 construction.
