Dive into two hours of art-fueled fun at the Met, one of the world’s largest and most diverse art museums. Join a small group—capped at just 15 guests—and head straight to the highlights (and oddities) of this sprawling collection that spans over 6,000 years and six continents.
Start by meeting your enthusiastic guide near the Met’s entrance, then meander through galleries packed with an eclectic mix of must-see masterpieces and lesser-known gems. Snap a photo of a strangely endearing limp hippo sculpture, do a double-take at an ancient Egyptian “wardrobe malfunction,” and uncover how a certain piece of Flemish dinnerware may not be as innocent as it first seems (family-friendly filters apply, of course).
In between giggles, explore some of the Met’s most iconic artworks, discovering fascinating stories behind figures like Monet and Van Gogh—whose personal lives were sometimes as colorful as their paintings. And yes, you might just find yourself on a quest for all things derrière, as you and your fellow art adventurers take part in a cheeky scavenger hunt that proves the Met holds a few unexpected surprises. This breezy, fast-paced tour ensures you’ll see the big-ticket items, dig into offbeat curiosities, and still have plenty of time to enjoy New York City afterward.

We did a 3 Hours tours and Jared, our guide, took us on a journey of the highlights of the museum, also telling us about museum’s interesting facts. It would be impossibile to see everything so that’s why you can stay longer after the tour ends.

Charlie was fantastic! So much knowledge and energy. He ensured our group stayed together and could view all of the highlights. I learned so much and our group really enjoyed the tour.
Our tour starts in Ancient Egypt, beholding perfectly preserved ancient Egyptian tomb models. See tiny dioramas that show what life was like in the times of Tutankhamen and learn about the fascinating burial rituals of the era. You’ll understand a little more of this at our next stop, Egyptian mummies and “William,” the Met’s “mascot.” Next, onto a prize jewel of the Met Museum, the Temple of Dendur, an Ancient Egyptian Temple right smack in the middle of Central Park. More rumors abound at two of the next pieces we see – the armor of Britain’s infamous King Henry VIII, and the Antioch Chalice, purported by some as, ‘The Holy Grail.” We’ll see more ancient works of Greek statuary and Roman frescoes before moving to the exotic, with a stop in Papua New Guinea. We’ll then head to the second floor to soak in some of Claude Monet’s famous Water Lillies, be energized by the expressive works of Vincent Van Gogh, and be inspired by a bronze of Rodin’s Thinker.
