The Fondation Maeguerite et Aimé Maeght is one of the world's leading cultural institutions. Inaugurated on July 28th, 1964 by André Malraux, the foundation was born of the friendship of Aimé Maeght and his wife Marguerite with some of the most important artists of the 20th century. The museum has one of the most important collections of paintings, sculptures, drawings and graphic works of modern and contemporary artists in Europe with more than 13,000 references: an exceptional collection of sculptures by Alberto Giacometti and works by Joan Miró, masterpieces by Pierre Bonnard, Marc Chagall, Alexander Calder, Georges Braque and many others.

Overlooking the beautiful medieval town of Saint-Paul-de-Vence is the perfect setting for the Fondation Maeght, museum of modern art with the biggest 20th-century collection in Europe. Just 25 kilometers from Nice, admire the paintings, sculptures, and drawings of big names such as Chagall, Joan Miró, and so many others, as well as contemporary artists too.
The hilltop village of Saint Paul de Vence has inspired artists from Marc Chagall, Picasso and Matisse – and it’s clear to see why. Cobbled streets lead visitors through the old town to discover a fountain, hideaway shops and restaurants. Look over Medieval ramparts for birdseye views of the Cote d’Azur where cameras will beg to snap picture-postcard shots.
