Meet your guide outside the impressive Saint Lazare train station in central Paris to begin your Art Nouveau walking tour. Paris’ 8th and 9th arrondissements are widely considered home to some of the city’s finest architecture, and a glance upward from the colorful window displays reveals the true charm of this beautiful part of the French capital.
Head to bustling Boulevard Haussmann in the 9th arrondissement and admire the imposing facade of the Galeries Lafayette — widely considered Paris’ finest department store. Listen as your guide describes the architectural fashions which shaped this imposing building, then step inside to be wowed by the towering stained-glass dome ceiling and gilded balconies.
Continue onward to the Palais Garnier — Paris’ world-famous opera house — and marvel at the building’s spectacular structure and ornate stonework. Built in the late 19th-century, the Palais Garnier is considered as much a symbol of Paris as the Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame Cathedral and its beauty continues to captivate visitors to this day.
Visit a traditional Parisian brasserie during your tour and admire the spectacular Art Nouveau architecture as you enjoy your drink. Then, head back out into the bustling city. After two hours admiring Art Nouveau architecture in Paris’ 8th and 9th arrondissements, your tour concludes on Boulevard Haussmann.

Views of the interior structure of some of the domes, views of the city from building observation points, striking interior of the brasserie Mollard. Wonderful “hidden” places that would have been further enhanced by a little more context overall of Art Nouveau and the Art Nouveau movement in Paris.

Thank you for taking this tour. Sorry that you feel you didn't get enough information about art nouveau in general but this 2 hour tour is too short to cover everything. We need to focus on what is around us :-)

Solene is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide and a great person to get to know. We plan to join another of her tours on our next trip to Paris. The Holts from Wayne, PA

Solène was absolutely amazing. Her itinerary was perfect. We saw a lot in a short period of time with stops very near each other. She was very informative with flawless English. She felt more like a friend than a tour guide. We especially liked the brasserie stop.

Our guide was fabulous! She has a great knowledge and appreciation for the wonderful architecture around Paris. She showed us gorgeous pieces of art and architecture that were visible to thousands every day as they pass thru the train stations, eat in the cafes and shop in the stores--yet never really see them. She helped us to see and truly appreciate the beauty.
