Begin your excursion at the Fontana del Tritone in Piazza Barberini, where you’ll meet your guide before strolling to the nearby Museum and Crypt of the Capuchins. Slip on your audio guide and enter the eerie Bone Chapel, adorned with the remains of 4,000 Capuchin monks, then explore the catacombs once used by early Christians for clandestine worship.

Next, climb aboard an air-conditioned bus and journey to the Catacombs of Domitilla. Descend into this ancient underground cemetery to see frescoes, intriguing iconography, burial sites, and early Christian chapels, all brought to life by your historian guide.

Back on the surface, travel to Basilica San Nicola in Carcere, a historic underground church displaying frescoes and featuring the Chapel of Our Lady of Carmel, a captivating finale to your Crypts and Catacombs experience. Your tour concludes with drop-off at Piazza Barberini or Viale del Monte Oppio, depending on the day’s schedule.

A true historical experience of Rome

    Joel_E, Mar 2025

Such an amazing time on this tour of Rome's catacombs and crypts! Our guide was so passionate and knowledgeable about everything, not just the catacombs and their rich history but also of the wider city of Rome. A great tour and a must for those who love the history and secrets Rome has to offer!

    Emiliano is the best!

    Navigate54661862879, Mar 2025

Emiliano was fun and informative. He wasn’t too serious but we learned a lot. We absolutely loved the fact that we could visit all three places and the tour company took care of the logistics. We did not have to walk a whole lot in between the places because the bus was right there. The bus was very clean and comfortable, air conditioned.
