A very nice experience. Christine was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She gave a great overview of Alsatian cuisine and the history of the city. The shops and restaurants were fun and our bellies were full.

Christine was a terrific guide, she had a wealth of knowledge on the history and food of her home region. The food selections were delicious and the tour was well paced. We enjoyed meeting the store and restaurant owners and learning their history as well.

I recently joined a food walking tour in Strasbourg, led by Christine, and it was truly one of the highlights of my trip. The experience perfectly blended history, culture, and—of course—fantastic food. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, weaving together fascinating stories about Strasbourg’s unique position between France and Germany, its medieval architecture, and how that mix of influences has shaped the city’s cuisine. At each stop, we tasted something memorable: traditional Alsatian tarte flambée straight from a wood oven, artisanal cheeses paired with local wines, and the most delicious sausages and charcuterie I’ve ever had. What I loved most was how personal and intimate the tour felt. Rather than rushing from place to place, we were encouraged to slow down, savor each bite, and take in the atmosphere of the old town. By the end, I felt like I’d not only eaten well, but also gained a deeper appreciation for Strasbourg’s history and culinary traditions. If you’re visiting Strasbourg, I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. It’s the perfect way to explore the city, meet fellow food lovers, and enjoy a feast for both the mind and the palate.
You will start your food journey with a charcuterie tasting of dried and cured meats, with a warm freshly-baked bretzel, in the best Alsatian tradition. Served with a glass of local wine or beer.
Have a seat in a traditional winstub and try one of the most typical Asatian dishes: the choucroute garnie, made of sauerkraut, potatoes and sausages. Unmissable
Enjoy a selection of Alsatian cheese in a local fromagerie. You will be guided through the discovery of the Alsatian cheese-making tradition!
Let's end on a sweet note with some local desserts, such as the Kugelhopf, a fluffy little cake that was usually baked for Christmas and now it's eaten all year long. Enjoy a slice of the iconic sweet tarte flambée, with apples and cinnamon on top. And in Christmas time, you will try the famous pain d'épice, one of the most beloved desserts in Strasbourg!
