Visit Milan’s Sforza Castle – one of the primary symbols of the city. Learn about its various transformations over the past few centuries on a 2-hour guided tour. The castle has been a defense fortress, a military barracks, a private residence, and the center of cultural institutions and museums.
Today the castle is home to museums of art, archives, and libraries. Hear history of the structure when it was under the rule of the Visconti and Sforza families, and about the last extraordinary restoration of the castle made by architect Luca Beltrami at the beginning of the twentieth century.
At the conclusion of your tour, you’ll have the opportunity to see Michaelangelo’s famous Pietà Rondanini.
Departure guaranteed.

Our guide was super knowledgeable! If you visit Sforza Castle without a guide you will miss so much. Our guide made the castle come alive and gave great insight into the Michelangelo and Da Vinci ceiling that we would have otherwise missed.

Because of a political demonstration in the area that caused the closing of the nearby Duomo metro station, our tour was cancelled. The guide evidently tried to call and text us, but our European phone wasn't working properly. However, if he had emailed us (and obviously Viator has our email address) we would have gotten the message. Instead, we waited 1/2 hour for a no-show, then had to wait an hour in line just to get into Sforza Castle. No audio guide, no map, and loads of people on a Saturday afternoon. The cancellation seemed unnecessary as there were loads of other tours going through. And we're still waiting to hear about a refund, which the local tour operator did not put through.
